5 In-Flight Beauty Tips

1. Don't use plane water

I've heard of planes recycling air but didn't know they recycle the water as well! So basically, everyone's toilet germs are in the water. Yuck. Make sure you don't use the plane washroom to wash your hands or your face! I've heard so many stories of people getting allergic reactions or breaking out after touching the water.

2. Don't touch anything on the plane

I might sound like a crazy germaphobe but really, you don't know what's touched your seat. Airlines don't clean them either. On my last flight, I found a big coffee stain on the flip out table. Always use a cleansing/disinfecting wipe on your seat buckle, arm rest, the table, and the touchscreen if you have one.

3. Stay hydrated

Although you don't want to use the washroom on the flight, it's still good to drink a lot of water. If you have a weak bladder, go beforehand. For added moisture, you can also use a facial mist! During long flights, I like using a sheet mask. You might look funny to other people but don't worry, the airline attendants are used to it. If it's too much for you, a sleeping mask is still good too since it'll keep your skin hydrated longer.

4. Wear sunscreen

UV rays are even more damaging on the plane due to the high altitude, particularly if you're sitting next to a window. I used to hate sunscreen because of its thick and greasy texture but now there are light mist versions! Feel free to bring it on the plane with you as long as it's under 100ml since it'd be in an aerosol can. For a long flight though, I'd say to remove the sunscreen on your face before you go to sleep and to just close the window.

5. Wear comfy clothes

Trust me, sitting down for hours isn't fun if you're wearing something that feels suffocating. Also remember to bring a light cover up even if your destination is super hot because the plane does get pretty cold. Don't use the blankets the airline provides unless you're sitting first class. Who knows when they've last been washed.

Oh and in case I haven't made it obvious enough, for long flights you don't really need to bother arriving in full out glam makeup. Just put it on an hour before landing! But if you can't bear leaving the house without makeup, makeup removing wipes or presoaked cleansing oil and cleansing water pads will be your lifesaver.

Just landed in Japan today! Sorry for the lack of updates but travelling is truly exhausting. Don't worry, I'll be back with more posts and vlogs soon! For now, you can check out my Alishan 阿里山 post & vlog here and keep up with me through my IG stories & pics here.
