HAWAII 2015

Happy New Year loves! Exams are over and it's finally winter break! Luckily this year, I had the chance to go to Hawaii literally right after my last final. Here are some pics of what we did on our 7 day trip.

We stayed at 3 different hotels; the first one being The Outrigger. I loved the beachfront view. While my mom and I only stayed there for one night, my siblings and my dad stayed there the previous two nights since flights were cheaper earlier but I couldn't go because of my exam.

While shopping at Ala Moana, my sister and I saw these Ray Bans that we really wanted but then we went to Costco and found the same ones for half the price!! The shades I wanted were so popular that by the time we were done shopping at Costco, the ones I saw on display were taken away as it was the last pair. I bought that one but of course my sister likes to copy me and wanted that same style so later on in the trip we went to another Costco to get her the same pair. Funnily enough, she also got the last one at that Costco.

The next hotel we stayed at was the Embassy. My family has enjoyed staying at the Embassy in Seattle and taking advantage of the complimentary bar service and breakfast. I always get a Shirley Temple topped with a maraschino cherry and a ham/cheese/spinach omelette.

We went to Aloha Stadium to check out the flea market. 2 hours of shopping felt like at least 3 to us. We ended up buying a suitcase (to take carry all the souvenirs we were bringing back home), saltwater taffy (so good!!), and food of course. We had pineapple in a bag mixed with plum powder to eliminate the sourness and coconut water straight from a coconut. Usually I do not like coconut water at all, but this one actually tasted pretty good.

My parents like to visit different hotels just to see what they look like, so we went to Aulani, a Disney Hawaiian Resort and walked around the inside and outside. We were greeted by employees who were singing Christmas carols in Hawaiian and English.

The next day, we went to go hike Diamond Head. We've been to Hawaii many times before, and we did this hike when we were little. I remember it wasn't a very hard hike nor did it take very long, but we were sweating profusely when we reached the top due to the heat and climbing the stairs. This time, it only took us 20 minutes to get to the top and I ran on the way down. Props to the old men I saw doing the hike as well.

After Diamond Head, we drove to Hanauma Bay and walked along the beach.

Our third and final hotel we checked into was the Sheraton Waikiki, my favourite. We've stayed at this hotel before and definitely took advantage of the many pools they had. The view from our room was breathtaking. During these days, we did nothing but lounge at the pool; me personally enjoying the infinity pool and the hot tub.

Since our hotel was right on the beach, my dad and I went for a walk and checked out the other hotels nearby like the Hilton.

Before we left Hawaii, I got a black jagua tattoo of the Hawaiian islands!

And that concludes my trip to Hawaii! I definitely miss the warm weather and relaxing atmosphere there. Can't believe it's almost time to go back to school too. Why does time fly by so quickly??

Have you been to Hawaii? What was your fav part there? I remember loving the spam musubis but this time, I didn't find it as appetizing as it used to be. The good thing is that I could always make it myself at home.

Hope everyone has a blessed 2016!!
xx, Melissa
