My package from Farfetch just arrived yesterday!! My friend has told me about Farfetch before, which is a site that sells designer goods but obviously I don't have enough money to afford any of that. However, I've been interested in these Stutterheim rain jackets that I've seen on Instagram. I don't think the Swedish brand is very well-known but celebrities such as Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Lorde have been spotted wearing it (the exact same jacket I bought!!). I got the Stockholm jacket in black. It retails for $395CAD on their website but Farfetch is currently having a sale where its $323CAD ($275 for other sizes!!) so on a whim at 4am, I placed an order. I did kind of regret it after because it is a lot of money for a raincoat but now that I have it, why not keep it. I live in Raincouver so I know I'll get a lot of use out of it and a black jacket is always so versatile.
It is a little big on me with the sleeves and hood but since it's not past my knee I feel like I can get away with it. The smallest size Farfetch had was an XXS but Stutterheim does sell the Stockholm in XXXS, which is what I wanted to order. The upside is that there is plenty of room if I wanted to layer more clothes underneath! The coat is unisex so the straight fit kind of reminds me of Oak + Fort style clothing. If you're unsure about what size is perfect, the Stutterheim website does have a size chart and a function where you can input the measurements of a coat you already own and it'll compare it to the size of their coats!
The quality is notable as it's made out of rubberized cotton so it does feel thick and heavy to carry but once you wear it, it's super lightweight. At first when I bent my arms, the material bunching up in between my arms bothered me but I'm already getting used to it. Hopefully it'll be less noticeable when I wear long sleeved clothing. Also I did notice a little tiny hole near the inside label when the coat arrived but I believe the outside should be more durable since it's meant for heavy duty rain. You can find more about the story of Stutterheim here.
My order only took 2 days to arrive!! It shipped via DHL but I think Farfetch actually has multiple "partners" so each product is from someone different around the world. My jacket was actually shipped from Italy! What I like is how Farfetch covers all import tax/duties so I don't to worry about that (seriously the worst surprise when online shopping) and it came wrapped in tissue paper in a big fold-out box. The printed receipt was folded into a paper sleeve that had "Farfetch" printed on it, which reminded me of how other Designer brands package your purchase but I guess they have to since they do sell designer stuff on their website.
If you're interested in anything on Farfetch's website, click here to get 10% off your purchase (which is a lot when buying designer goods)!!!
Happy (almost) New Year!! Can't wait for 2016 to be over, but I also don't wanna jinx 2017 because what if it's worse..😂
